Fuel tanker bursts into flames in Ibadan

Friday, July 18, 2025 - A petroleum tanker carrying 33,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, also known as petroleum has caught fire in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The incident occurred Thursday evening at Celica junction, new Ife Expressway in Ibadan.

The fire incident was as a result of brake failure, which made the vehicle lose control.

It was learnt that the tanker hit a Prado jeep and another car.

The tanker in the process fell and caught fire.

Although no casualty was recorded, the fire also affected the car and the Prado jeep.

Chairman of Oyo State Fire Service, Hon Maroof Akinwande confirmed the development.

Akinwande in a statement said that the incident was reported at exactly 18.27hrs on Thursday.
