Wednesday, August 12, 2026 - Tiffany Haddish has avoided additional jail time after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor alcohol-related driving charge stemming from her 2022 arrest in Georgia.
The comedian and actress entered the plea by video on August 11, 2026, as her long-delayed case was scheduled to go to trial. Under the agreement, Haddish was sentenced to 12 months of probation and received credit for the brief period she already spent in jail.
The 46-year-old star must stay away from alcohol and drugs during probation and undergo a substance-abuse evaluation and testing. Her Georgia driver's license has also been suspended, while other misdemeanor charges connected to the case, including a drug-related DUI charge, were dropped as part of the deal.
The case dates to January 2022, when police responded to a 911 report of a driver apparently asleep behind the wheel at a traffic light in Peachtree City.
The guilty plea closes a legal case that had remained unresolved for more than four years and removes the immediate threat of additional jail time for Haddish. The actress had also faced a separate DUI arrest in Beverly Hills in 2023, but that case was later resolved through a plea agreement.
With the Georgia proceedings now settled, Haddish's focus can turn back to her entertainment career while she completes the court-ordered conditions of her probation.
