Wednesday, August 12, 2026 - Travis Barker has revealed a chilling detail about the moments before the 2008 plane crash that nearly killed him, saying his young daughter Alabama appeared to have a disturbing premonition.
Speaking on the On Purpose with Jay Shetty podcast, the Blink-182 drummer recalled that Alabama, then only three or four years old, became emotional before he left and repeatedly warned him, “The roof’s gonna come off.” Barker has now reflected on the warning as one of several signs that made him uneasy about taking the flight.
Barker said he already had serious concerns about flying and even contacted his father before boarding the private jet, but ultimately went ahead with the trip. The aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff in South Carolina on September 19, 2008, killing four people.
Barker and Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein were the only survivors, while Barker suffered severe burns and underwent extensive treatment and multiple surgeries during his recovery.
The experience permanently changed Barker's relationship with flying and left him dealing with deep trauma for years. He eventually returned to air travel in 2021 after a 13-year absence, with his family and wife Kourtney Kardashian helping him confront the fear.
