Friday, September 4, 2026 - Former Bondi Rescue star and mental health advocate Matt Dee has died at the age of 47, prompting an outpouring of tributes from former colleagues, friends and fans.
The news was announced on September 2 by FTW Revolution, the organisation Dee co-founded, which described him as someone who “touched the lives of many” and said he would be deeply missed.
Dee was a familiar face on Australian television after appearing on Bondi Rescue between 2008 and 2017.
Beyond television, he became increasingly known for his work promoting mental-health awareness and suicide prevention, including through FTW Revolution and his role as an ambassador for Suicide Prevention Australia. His former colleagues have since shared emotional tributes, remembering him as a much-loved friend and a unique personality.
